Three winners and two Zhan finals mark China ProTour opening
Liu, Zong and Xu won the opening three China ProTour events, while Qingyu Zhan finished runner-up in the second and third tournaments.
PDC reported on 27 May 2025 that Yuanjun Liu, Xiaochen Zong and Tong Xu had shared the opening three China ProTour titles. Across the 24–25 May weekend, Qingyu Zhan also emerged as a recurring finalist despite leaving without a title.
Zong halts Liu’s double attempt
Liu won Event One after taking four consecutive legs to beat Zhan 5–3 in the semi-finals. He defeated Kehua Wang 5–1 in the final.
Zong stopped Liu in the Event Two semi-finals, winning 5–1 with a 96 average. That followed a 4–3 quarter-final against Bin Zheng. Zong then beat Zhan 5–2 to take the second title.
Xu recovers as Zhan reaches another final
Sunday’s Event Three finished with Xu overturning a 3–4 deficit against Zhan to win 5–4. Zhan had beaten Zong by the same score in the semi-finals.
Zhan’s semi-final appearance in Event One and successive finals in Events Two and Three provide another way to read the weekend. The titles changed hands, while he repeatedly reached the closing stages. Consistency of progression and tournament wins tell different parts of the opening-round story.
A ten-event season continues
PDC described a ten-tournament season running from May to October, with Events 4–6 scheduled for 19–20 July. The report linked the series to the Asian Championship qualification race without specifying the number of available places.
