Japan trio feature in WDF Worlds provisional list dated October 25
Ryusei Azemoto, Tomoya Goto and Mayumi Ouchi appear through different qualification routes, with a further qualifier still to come in WDF's October 25 update.
Three Japanese players feature in WDF's provisional qualification lists for the 2026 World Championships, presented as of October 25: Ryusei Azemoto and Tomoya Goto in the Open field, and Mayumi Ouchi in the Women's field. Their inclusion should not be presented as a final confirmed line-up.
Different routes into the same championship
Azemoto appears among Gold and Platinum event winners through the 2026 Steel Masters. Goto is listed through the Asian regional ranking race. Ouchi also appears in the event-winner section as Steel Masters champion, with an additional Asian regional ranking annotation.
The Japanese entries illustrate why this is more than a single ranking table. Tournament victories and regional standings provide distinct routes into the provisional field; the list's running numbers should not be mistaken for overall world-ranking positions.
Another qualifier and player choices affect the field
WDF says its second World Championship qualifier will take place at Lakeside on November 1. The October 25 lists contain both named last-chance qualifiers and unfilled positions.
The federation also states that players eligible for both the PDC and WDF World Championships who elected to play in the PDC have been removed and replaced under WDF criteria. Qualification results and players' competition choices therefore both affect the published field.
An update with a defined cut-off
WDF covers Open, Women, Youth and Girls, with weekly updates planned until the season ends on November 2. This report summarises the federation's October 25 position, rather than treating those provisional lists as a newly confirmed final field.
