Humphries and Littler named for MBEs as Hedman receives OBE honour

PDC reported on 14 June 2025 that Luke Humphries and Luke Littler had been recognised with MBEs in the King’s Birthday Honours for their contribution to darts. Deta Hedman was also named for an OBE for services to darts and charity.

Rivals recognised together

Humphries had won the 2023/24 World Championship and the 2025 Premier League. Littler reached the world final on debut at 16, won the Premier League and Grand Slam in 2024, and became World Champion in January 2025.

At the time of PDC’s announcement, the two were also England’s World Cup pairing. The news brought recognition to players who competed against one another individually and represented their country together.

Recognition beyond a tournament result

PDC’s account of their responses included promoting darts and encouraging future generations. That gives the announcement a wider frame than a list of titles: it concerned their contribution to the sport as well as the achievements associated with their names.

Hedman honoured for darts and charity

Hedman’s OBE explicitly covered both darts and charitable work. Her inclusion extended the announcement beyond the two recent world champions, recognising another player’s long involvement and work beyond competition.
